How it Works

Registration

To begin your ThriftyU experience, you must first register online. Registering with ThrifyU allows you to personalize the information that you receive while visiting. After you have completed the registration form, you will be sent a confirmation email, which will allow you to validate your account with us.

Logging In

Once you have verified your email address, you can return to the site and login using your email address and password.

The ThriftyU Home Page

Next, you will arrive at the ThriftyU Home page.  From the Home page, you can:

• Search for local vendors, coupons and upcoming events. (1)
• Find helpful articles, local announcements, give us feedback and more. (2)
• Check out the newest vendors added to the ThriftyU site. (3)
• Read informative articles from local and national sources. (4)
• Find out about upcoming events in your area. (5)

Searching & Browsing

The ThriftyU website provides a number of ways for you to locate information and savings.

• The Search Businesses box (1) uses the settings you entered during Registration to find local vendors in your area.
• The Advanced Search link (2) allows you to override your zip code and distance preferences as well as search specific categories.
• The Browse Businesses link (3) lets you browse vendors by category.

Vendor Listings

Vendor listings may vary from one vendor to the next, but the basic information is the same.

• Vendor's name and description (1) are located at the top of the listing.  Some vendors may have photos of their location.
• Location information and Get Directions (2) link are next. By clicking the Get Directions link, you will be taken to Mapquest where you can provide you address and get detailed directions to the location.
• Contact information (3) such as phone number and email address.
• If the vendor has a menu (foods, services, rates, etc.), you can view it online (4).
• Vendors may also have online coupons available (5), providing discounts for products, services and more.   You can view and print coupons easily.
• Vendors may have public events (6) hosted at their location, when they do, you'll know about them here.
• The Photo Gallery (7) allows the vendor to display photos of products, locations, advertisements and more!  Be sure to check these out where available.
